Trapdoors, Flying Keys and a Three-Headed Dog
The Main Tower is packed with play functions from the first film. In the rocky foundations of the castle sit the Wizard's Chess room and the Flying Keys chamber, both of which can be removed for play. A trapdoor leads down from Fluffy's chamber, just as Harry, Ron and Hermione descend on their way to the Philosopher's Stone. The keys can be made to fly using a function, and a moving staircase changes direction, just as the staircases at Hogwarts constantly do. The Devil's Snare can be activated by a trigger.
Higher up the 67 cm tall tower are more rooms and corridors. Secret passages, hidden alcoves and architectural details make the model a fresh voyage of discovery every time. The combination of play functions and display quality is particularly impressive thanks to the sheer size of the model.
Twelve Figures and Six Animal Companions
Alongside the six minifigures Harry, Hermione, Neville, Professor Kettleburn, Dumbledore and Nearly Headless Nick, the set contains six animal figures: the three-headed dog Fluffy, the phoenix Fawkes, the owl Hedwig, the rat Scabbers, the toad Trevor and the cat Crookshanks. This menagerie of magical and non-magical creatures makes the Main Tower the figure-richest modular Hogwarts set.
