U-Wings served the Rebels as transport/fighter craft during the Galactic Civil War. They were able to land quickly, send troops into the field and take off again, and provide fire protection for their own troops with mounted weapons. For ship-to-ship combat, the U-Wings are equipped with two powerful forward laser cannons, as well as strong reflector shields whose range coverage could be increased in combat mode (open wings).
