Builders welcome: It's time to build!
Large LEGO building competition with the theme of LEGO® Star Wars™

This year, we are starting our LEGO building competition again! This time, we have two main themes: LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Ninjago!

After our last building competitions on LEGO Harry Potter (2021) and LEGO City (2022), we are now entering the third round:

March 1, 2023: we travel to a galaxy far, far away and start the big LEGO Star Wars building competition!

Small and large builders play with LEGO and LEGO bricks! LEGO Star Wars combines a high number of sets released, a large fan base, and endless possibilities for telling your own stories!

That's why we, from JB Spielwaren, together with Christoph Baumann (LEGO Masters finalist 2022), Lukas Kurth (StoneWars.de) and Ryan (MandR Productions), are starting the big LEGO Star Wars building competition in 2023!

Start and Duration of the Building Competition:

This year you also have the opportunity to choose between two building competitions:

1. AFOL / Professional Category: for all great builders, AFOL, artists
2. Junior / Beginner Category: for all small builders and beginners in the LEGO theme

After consultation with the candidate, we reserve the right to assign buildings to the appropriate category.
The building competition starts on March 1st, 2023, you can submit your buildings to us until July 30th, 2023:

What can be built?

The world of LEGO is colorful and diverse. Therefore, we only want to give you a few conditions for your building: Your creation should thematically fit with LEGO Star Wars!

In detail, this means for you:

  • your LEGO creation should be related to your selected theme
  • no height or maximum number of parts limit
  • it should be something new, built specifically for the competition, i.e. no prior public release of the creation before 01.03.2023
  • use of building blocks and LEGO minifigures
  • it can be built with both physical and digital bricks

The building categories and prizes

To give our little builders the chance to create amazing things and shine in the spotlight, this year we have prepared two categories for the MOCs (My Own Creation):
  1. AFOL/professional category: for all the great builders, AFOLs, artists
  2. Junior/beginner category: for all the little builders and beginners in the LEGO world
We reserve the right, after consulting with the candidate, to assign their creation to the appropriate category.

Out of all the submissions, a total of 10 winners will be selected (5 for each of the two categories).
The prizes for this year are:

1st prize: 500 EUR shopping voucher
2nd prize: 250 EUR shopping voucher
3rd prize: 150 EUR shopping voucher
4th prize: 100 EUR shopping voucher
5th prize: 50 EUR shopping voucher
What do we need from you:
  • up to 5 photos as image files ->.jpg or .png
  • a brief description of the most important details of your building from your point of view
  • if you wish, a brief description of yourself as the builder
  • if you are a minor, permission from your parents to participate in the building competition
  • Send your entry by July 30th, 2023 to bauwettbewerb@jb-spielwaren.de
  • The winners will be announced in the summer of 2023 after the entries have been reviewed.
The jury's criteria for evaluating the entries are the same as in previous years:
  • originality of the idea
  • building techniques
  • story that you tell with your building
  • presentation of your MOCs
